This monster tooth was found in the Gulf of Mexico off Venice Beach in about 30' of water. This tooth comes from a megalodon shark that was approximately 45' in length.
Included in the photos is a picture of an inflatable 45' meg just to get an idea of the size. At 4.38" this tooth is in the 4"+ club. Yes there are bigger meg teeth around but anytime you can own a whole 4+ meg you are in elite company as there just isn't that many to be found. This tooth belonged to a megalodon shark that had few if any predators (which would have been an even larger megalodon shark).
IT WAS THE APEX PREDATOR! Each meg that I get is special in its own way. Could be the size, the shape, the color, the weight and the condition of each meg. What is unique about his particular meg is the weight. This tooth weighs 5.47 ounces!Makes you wonder what would the total weight be of all the teeth in it's mouth but you would it would be pounds and pounds of sharp serrated teeth. This tooth comes with a 5.5" X 5.5" 3-D floating display frame. The frame is easy to open so that you can put your tooth back inside of it if you wish. This meg is from the miocene epoch making it 5-25 million years old.
