6.10 World Class Blue Megalodon Shark Tooth Fossil
This investment grade tooth is amongst the top 0.01% of quality and size combination you could ever hope to find. The stunning blue blade is fully serrated, transitioning with a cream color gradient into the jet black 100% complete bourlette, a lighter toned V shape visible at center, and finally culminating with a hefty prounced root with both lobes still present. It exceeds the magic 6" mark where values and desirability jumps tremndously, measuring at 6.10" on digital calipers. Originating from West Java, this fine specimen is the best you could hope to find from the locality, which is often plauged by root erosion issues. Quite simply, it has everything going for it.
As with all teeth from the region, this was excavated by hand and unfortunately consequently sports some cracking done via an encounter with a shovel head at the time of discovery after laying undistrubed for millions of years. This flaw prevents the tooth from fetching twice or more the asking price, but does not detract from the overall display. There has been stabilization efforts made but absolutely no restoration or artificial improvements. Don't miss this one, it is a stunner!
