This one still has serrations on the blade. The shark species that produced this tooth lived about 5 - 25 million years ago (MYA). Sharks produce thousands of teeth during their lifetime.
Many of these become fossilized due to the weight of the ocean and sediment where they are deposited. It takes up to 2 million years for complete fossilization.
