This very handsome fossil shark's tooth displays a rich, dark grey enamel coating and excellent serrations along both edges. It measures 45.7 mm (1.8 inches) in length and capped with a custom shark's mouth design of pure 925 Sterling Silver.
The teeth of the giant ancient shark, Megalodon, are among the most prized specimens for the prehistoric fossil collector. They are similar to those of today's Great White, but considerably larger.
They were the largest carnivorous fish ever to have swum the oceans of our planet reaching lengths of up to 70 feet. They lived 1.5 to 28 million years ago.
