This is my favourite Megalodon in my possession right now. Red lines running parallel to the serrations, a bright orange bourlette, hints of purple, red and blue on both sides of the tooth.
On the lingual side there's a LOT of red, and blues toward the root. Root itself is relatively solid, not the best of the best but it hasn't suffered the same root rot you see many of these have undergone.
Parts of the original brown coloration of the root surface are still there, especially on the labial side, with the lighter material underneath showing through. Serrations are perfect and so is the tip. Size is 4.8 or 12.2cm in length (at its longest, including root). It was found in a Miocene limestone deposit near Sukabumi in West Java, Indonesia.
I personally verified the specimen's authenticity threefold. 1 Acquisition directly from a reliable source on Java island, Indonesia, with whom I remain in close contact. 2 Meticulous inspection at daylight wavelengths under magnification (using a microscope). 3 Additional inspection with short-wave UV light under magnification.
Short-wave UV light allows for the detection of glues and resins, which were NOT seen on this specimen. Thank you for your attention, and please feel free to make an offer!
