Location - Sharktooth Hill - Bakersfield, CA. Age - Middle Miocene - Appx 13-15 million years old. Remarks - Extremely rarely offered large 5 long fossil megalodon tooth from the famous Sharktooth Hill site in Bakersfield, CA. These are about as hard to find on the market as teeth from any location in the world as NOBODY wants to sell them.
This is a very old collection piece found on Ernst's land in the 80's or 90's. Nice serrations, cool shape (thick lower), and some nice manganese dark coloring in the enamel. The left root corner has been broken (x2) and reglued but that's the only work done. It's a really good looking large meg from a location that is on any collector's top 5 list.
100% authentic with repair but no restoration. 99% of the teeth we sell are new to the market and have not been bought from other dealers or shopped around at shows. Does it really matter whether I found a particular tooth or someone else did if you like it and the price is fair? So what you are seeing here has not been offered before and you will be either the 2nd or 3rd owner of a very cool and collectible piece of history. However our products are priced quite fairly and usually you will still pay less (often considerably less) for a tooth from us even after paying duty than from most other sellers so keep that in mind when purchasing.
